The Fair Lending Data Analytics Officer (“FLDAO”) is responsible for assisting the Fair Lending Officer (“FLO") and the first line of defense in better understanding strengths and opportunities of the WSFS Fair Lending Program through data analytics. This position reports directly to the FLO of the WSFS Compliance Department. The role is instrumental in supporting the ongoing maturation of the WSFS Fair Lending Program in conformity with all applicable Federal and state laws and regulations. The FLDAO will collaborate and communicate with all levels of Associates including Senior leadership in the first, second, and third lines of defense. The FLDAO role is critical to the WSFS mission of “We Stand for Service.”
Job Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Assist the FLO in conducting/reviewing fair lending-related risk assessments and creating and revising related policies.
Run reports, on an as-needed basis, from fair lending software to analyze data including but not limited to peer mortgage bank statistics, pricing, underwriting, fallout, etc.
Perform comparative file analysis and summarize results to management.
Conduct redlining analysis and present results to management.
Review fair lending complaints and legal matters pertaining to fair lending (as warranted) to ensure systemic patterns are identified and a remediation plan is developed with the first line of defense if required.
Maintain the “Fair Lending Scorecard” and communicate goals and results to applicable stakeholders within participating lines of business.
Obtain lines of business key performance drivers and remedial action plans when needed improvements are identified.
Assist in the preparation of the CRA and Fair Lending Committee meeting package materials.
Attend and present at CRA and Fair Lending Compliance Committee meetings.
Create scope and test plan for select monitoring and testing (QA) reviews and participate in fieldwork, as necessary.
Identify and clearly document findings and partner with lines of business to ascertain and document management’s risk response and related remediation to findings.
Provides support to various business lines in the form of providing regulatory guidance when requested.
Provide guidance to management in addressing customer complaints and assessing and operationalizing regulatory change, as necessary.
Complete annual training as assigned in a timely manner and seek additional educational opportunities to continue to learn and grow.
Participate in financial industry groups to keep abreast of regulatory updates and relevant industry topics.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work-related experience is required.
Five or more years of experience consisting of direct technical experience in financial institution operations, compliance, or legal functions involving the assessment, testing, and/or operationalization of banking laws, rules, and regulations is required.
Two or more years of experience in designing and conducting fair lending statistical analyses for a financial institution, non-depository mortgage lender, or government regulatory agency is required.
Professional accreditation such as a Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) or Certified Risk and Compliance Management Professional (CRCMP) is preferred.
Solid foundation of statistical analysis with the ability to interpret and use data to critically review, assess, and support the department and business lines.
Sound listener and interpreter of messaging received from others with the ability to build effective relationships with both internal and external partners as needed to effectively work through others to achieve goals and objectives.
