Robert Half Payroll Specialist in Portsmouth, New Hampshire


The Payroll Specialist/Coordinator/Manager is responsible for accurately processing the organization's payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and providing exceptional service to employees regarding payroll-related inquiries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing:

  • Collect and verify timekeeping information for all employees.

  • Calculate wages, deductions, and withholdings.

  • Process payroll transactions accurately and timely.

  • Review and reconcile payroll data to ensure accuracy.

  • Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

  • Stay updated on changes in payroll laws and regulations.

  • Prepare and submit payroll taxes and reports in a timely manner.

  • Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate payroll records, including employee information, hours worked, and deductions.

  • Generate payroll reports for management as needed.

  • Ensure confidentiality and security of payroll data.

  • Employee Support:

  • Address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.

  • Assist employees with payroll-related issues and discrepancies.

  • Provide excellent customer service to internal stakeholders.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in payroll procedures.

  • Implement changes to streamline payroll processes and increase efficiency.

  • Collaborate with other departments to resolve payroll-related issues.
