Alternatives, Inc. in Raritan, NJ is looking to hire a Vice President of Finance to join the executive leadership team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Vice President of Finance is a key member of the executive team, responsible for overseeing all financial and facilities operations. This position ensures Alternatives' fiscal integrity and long-term sustainability, while supporting our mission and goals. The VP of Finance will also oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, audits, and risk management.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
MBA or CPA (preferred)
Six (6) years experience in a management role
Deep knowledge of accounting principles and financial management in a non-profit context
Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills
Experience in Medicaid billing
Experience with financial software - Abila MiP
Non-profit experience strongly preferred
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen
Key Responsibilities
Lead financial strategy, planning, and forecasting in alignment with organizational goals
Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and applicable regulations
Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements to the executive team and Board of Directors
Manage the annual budgeting process and provide financial guidance to department heads
Ensure proper internal controls and risk management procedures are in place
Lead the preparation for annual audits and liaise with external auditors
Supervise finance and accounting staff, providing mentorship and professional development
Work closely with development and program teams to align financial planning with fundraising and operational goals
Manage relationships with financial institutions, vendors, and regulatory agencies
