Antech Diagnostics Senior Cache Developer in Remote, California

PURPOSE OF JOB:

The Caché / MUMPS developer is responsible for building and maintaining the lab information system used by veterinarians. This position will own the full SDLC of projects and will serve as the subject matter expert within IT department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design applications that access lab results in real time.

  • Maintain quality and ensure responsiveness of application.

  • Collaborate with the rest of the development team to design and launch new features.

  • Participate in team and organization meeting to discuss business needs, planning and/or problem solving.

  • Maintain code integrity and organization.

  • Solid understanding of SDLC, and is able to contribute to each phase of it.

  • Work with business stake holders to improve user experience.

  • Experience of Intersystem Caché programming and/or MUMPS programming is required.

  • Experience of development using Intersystem CSP is a plus.

  • Experience of developing both thin and fat clients is a plus.

  • Knowledge of version control tooling such as Git, Perforce, or TFS is a plus.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Systems, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

  • 10+ years related experience in software development showing progression and growth.

  • Experience of working in healthcare setting is a huge plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Extensive sitting, phone, and computer use

  • Extend and reach with hands and arms and use hands and fingers

  • Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch

  • May be required to lift, move, and carry up to 15 lbs.

  • Specific vision abilities required including close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Hearing ability to effectively communicate via the telephone and in person

  • Ability to communicate verbally on the telephone and in person

  • Fluency in the English language

  • Extended hours may be needed

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The associate should be available to work outside regular business hours as needed, including weekends and holidays, to perform maintenance and upgrade tasks.

The employee will primarily work in a typical office environment including use of cubicles, computers and overhead lighting. Temperature extremes will be minimal to nonexistent.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee will be required to use a computer, spreadsheets, data base management, email, and the Internet. The employee is frequently required to use a calculator; fax, copy machine, and phone system.
