Position Information
The Executive Director reports to the Dean of University Extension and is a member of Extension’s Senior Executive Council. The position works in partnership with the Academic Affairs and Strategic Operations units within the division as well as with the UCR Office of International Affairs and other units on campus. The Executive Director (ED) is the principal business development officer for International Programs for UCR Extension and is expected to travel abroad numerous times per year to Extension’s major international markets as well as developing markets with the explicit goal of increasing international enrollments and revenue. The ED will conduct university partner and governmental agency visits, engage in student recruitment fairs, and build new programs and partnerships while on these international trips. Additionally, the ED will provide oversight and guidance to UCR Extension staff under his/her/their direction, manages the overall budget for the International Programs division, and upholds the academic quality and integrity of international education curricula. The ED is the lead administrator for all international programs, including but not limited to, academic pathway programs, short- and long-term custom programs, internship (CPT and OTP) based programs and English language programs.
The salary range for the Executive Director of International Programs is $103,300 - $199,700 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $151,500 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.

Minimum Requirements
Demonstrated expertise in building collaborations between academia, industry and/or governmental agencies.
Strong negotiation skills and verbal and written communication skills; ability to influence/persuade all levels of staff.
Managerial experience and proven success in managing a complex research or academic program(s).
Skills in organization and customer service to effectively manage multiple important priorities.
Demonstrated expertise with program building within a leading academic institution and administrative, budgetary, human resources and financial principles and practices.
Strong fundraising experience.
Expert oral and written communication skills.
Expert ability to work with dynamic and diverse group of faculty, staff and students.
Academic or research background and recognized expertise in selected area.
Leadership experience in academic and/or government agencies.
Knowledge of international education models
Knowledge of immigration services, regulations, SEVIS and compliance
Ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally
Ability to develop networks and contacts that add value to UCR Extension
Knowledge of self-supporting budget models for professional, continuing, online and international education organizations
A demonstrated record of visionary, collaborative, decisive and effective leadership with the ability to address issues and resolve problems in a timely and fair manner
