This Project Accountant role's duties will require preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. This role is for someone who wants to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. This is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity in the Romeoville, Illinois area, at a company where effort is rewarded. Your responsibilities in this role

  • Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

  • Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request

  • Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries

  • Participate in various department-wide initiatives

  • Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation

  • Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules

  • Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll

    Requirements - Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • Recent and relevant accounting experience

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Skilled with ERP systems

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

  • Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

  • Spreadsheet and database capabilities

  • Detailed and have the ability work independently

  • Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment

  • Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines

  • Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills

  • Construction Accounting experience desired

  • Lien Waivers experience

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • Knowledge of Construction Accounting
