Transit Equipment Maintenance Technician :
Performs preventative and corrective equipment maintenance for SMF Automated People Mover (APM) system (an elevated automated people mover system at Sacramento International Airport)
Perform electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems inspections of vehicles ( railcars ) and related equipment
Inspect, repair, and maintain train car components such as propulsion, brakes, pneumatic, doors, couplers, structural, signaling, circuit boards, communication, electrical, and lighting systems
Inspect, repair, and maintain wayside ( rail track ) components, including power rail, guide structure, signaling, guideway switches, communication, electrical, and power distribution systems
Perform preventive & corrective maintenance and/or replace defective parts or equipment ( power rail, guide structure, signaling, guideway switches, communication, electrical, and power distribution systems, automatic doors, access doors, signaling, and control systems, etc )
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; Preferably an Associate degree (A.S.) in a related mechanical or technical discipline and/or Vocational Training/Certification in a related discipline
Basic knowledge of electronic, mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, subsystems, and components related to transit systems
Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic test equipment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, mechanical drawings, technical manuals and bulletins
