Description
Our client, a growing and entrepreneurial real estate firm in San Antonio, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership, gain hands-on experience in real estate and construction finance, and grow into a future leadership position.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and review monthly financial statements, account reconciliations, and journal entries
Manage construction draws and ensure proper documentation for lender submissions
Perform detailed job costing and maintain project cost tracking
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
Collaborate with project managers and leadership on financial reporting for active developments
Maintain the general ledger and assist with audit and tax preparation
Identify and support implementation of process improvements
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed
Requirements
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (required)
3–4+ years of progressive accounting experience
Experience in the real estate industry required; real estate development and/or construction accounting experience preferred
Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting best practices
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across departments
Self-motivated, driven, and eager to grow into a leadership role
