IHG Busperson/Dishwasher (On Call) Hotel Indigo San Diego in San Diego, California



  • Perform set-up and closing side work assignments such as make coffee, fold napkins, etc. Stock service station or pantry with napkins, placemats, condiments, etc.


  • May routinely fill water glasses, serve non-alcoholic beverages, and assist servers by delivering food beverage items to guest tables or assist bartender in the preparation of garnishes and mixes.

  • Clean beverage equipment, glasses, and service areas; assist in clearing tables and cleaning work areas.


  • Clear, clean, and set tables according to established service standards.

  • Deliver Room Service order. Pick up trays from hallways


  • Clean, sanitize and/or wipe down tables, chairs, walls, windows, mirror and floors of restaurant.

  • Separate and wash dirty china, glassware and silver

  • Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to room service and dishwashing duties.


Basic reading, writing and math skills.

This job requires ability to perform the following:

  • Carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Moving about the restaurant

  • Handling food, objects; bus tray/tub, plates, glasses, utensils, etc.

  • Bending, stooping, kneeling


  • Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, wait staff, cooks, and supervisor.

  • Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.

  • Reading and writing abilities are utilized often to answer guest’s questions regarding the menu.

  • Basic math skills are used when performing room service duties.

  • May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

CA Pay Transparency:

The pay for this role is $16.85 based on CA Minimum wage. This is only applicable for jobs to be performed in San Diego, CA. This is the lowest to highest pay scale we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the pay range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.
