Nestle Digital & Automation Engineer in Sesto San Giovanni, Italy

Position Summary

In this role you will support the development of the Digital Roadmap in the Operations, on Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Process automation in Supply chain and Customer Service (RPA), Electricity and Automation (E&A) professional and technical in the Factory for operational activities and during participation in CAPEX projects; doing so in line with corporate guidelines, enforcing that all MES-E&A activities enhance business objectives, product quality and plant operation/performance while ensuring that people health and safety, product safety, and environment are never compromised.

A Day in the life of a Junior Project Engineer - Digital & Automation

Project Management for Digital-E&A solutions. Participates in Capital Investments projects in the market ensuring that the technical solution follows corporate and market standards and is delivered with the expected quality, being on time and in budget. Must fully understand the technical details of the Digital-E&A solutions in all projects. Responsibilities include: to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to reduce and control delivery lead times; to input manufacturing knowledge and promote best practise; to analyse and implement improvement actions regarding workflows.

Digital Solutions Implementation : implement and test new digital solutions for process automation, standardization and integration with digital platform architecture. Digital E&A Engineer have to stay up-to-date on the latest digital technologies

Full Compliance . Ensure Process & Equipment safety for people, products and environment and that one exhibits an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations. Ensure that the Change Management is in place to appropriately manage modifications in the Digital-E&A solutions. Ensure the application of the market and local Digital-E&A related legislation (i.e. electrical, calibration, etc).

Product and Process Mastership : Digital-E&A engineers play a key role in the continuous improvement of operation through mastering the process and product characteristics. The Digital-E&A engineer must have a deep insight of the processes, and continuously strive for the improvement of efficiency quality, safety while protecting the technological know how and competitive advantage.

Operational Support : Participates in the implementation of engineering tools at market level. Ensures that all Digital-E&A installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety and product quality standards. Ensures that the key Digital-E&A documentation is up to date and in place (i.e. SLD, URS, FDS, Calibration procedures, etc.). Participates in the M&I activities in the factory.

What will make you successful:

  • About 3 years of experience in the implementation of digital tools, possibly in a factory, and or in Automation with Electrical roles. In particular, proficiency in interfacing with PLC/MES and configuring connections with digital platforms;

  • Participation in the development of engineering projects as part of a multidisciplinary team (preferably including different products and technologies in Electrical and Automation areas)

  • Exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution desired

  • Communicated effectively with different organisational levels.

  • Must be fluent in English and Italian
