Summary of work: Performs duties of maintaining and supervision of the maintenance of the fairgrounds. Attend Fair Board meetings with a monthly report. Job Characteristics: Maintain and supervise the maintenance of the fairgrounds. This individual position performs physically demanding duties associated with the maintenance of the fairgrounds. Must have communication skills, strength, and ability to lift. Must be able to work when offices are closed and on call some weekends. Areas of job accountability and performance: As foreman, help schedule anticipated workload, personnel, equipment and materials needed; makes timely judgment calls; capable of operating all equipment used in maintenance of fairgrounds and servicing of said equipment; performs repair work on buildings and infrastructure of fairgrounds; keep maintenance shop in clean, organized and safety conscience condition, set up/clean up after events, perform janitorial duties as needed, keeps monthly maintenance records in timely manner, performs other related duties as required. Job requirements: KNOWLEDGE: This position requires a working knowledge of the Fair functions and fairgrounds usage. SKILLS: This position requires skills in communications, construction, electrical, plumbing, welding, lawn care, and use and maintenance of equipment used in the above skills. ABILITIES: This position requires the ability to operate and teach the operation of equipment in a safe manner, react quickly to changing circumstances, endure weather conditions, demonstrate physical stamina, lift 50 pounds, communicate effectively orally and in writing, follow verbal and written instructions, establish effective working relationships with fellow employees, supervisors, and the public. Education and experience: The knowledge skills and abilities are typically acquired through a combination of education and experience equivalent to High School courses.
