✨Join a group of passionate advocates on our mission to improve the lives of youth! Rite of Passage Team is hiring for Youth Care Worker at Safe Passage in South Bend Indiana✨
Safe Passage is a diagnostic and evaluation facility that works with youth ages 10 to 18. A youth is referred to our program by a DCS case manager or a probation officer to seek a clinical assessment. The youth stay at our locked secure facility for 30 days while our psychologist completes a full diagnostic and assessment of the youth. Safe Passage's psychologist will update diagnosis, treatment plans, and future placement options. Youth will leave Safe Passage in the next 30 days after their assessment is completed going on to one of three places: back home with social services in place, to a foster care or group home, or to a residential facility to work on a youth's recommendations.
Pay: starting at $17.50 per hour

What you will do: Youth Care workers provide safety and around-the-clock in-person supervision of youth at a secure residential facility. In this role, you will provide for the physical, personal and health needs of each youth through individual counseling and skill development. Youth Services Workers provide an atmosphere that is supportive of the youth’s needs; monitor and document behaviors and activities; and participate and assist with educational, social, athletic and recreational activities. Youth Services Workers collaborate with other professional staff to establish and meet the goals of each youth's treatment plan.
To be considered you should: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Be at least 21 years of age Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen (we no longer test for THC for pre-employment), physical, and TB test Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.
Schedule: 12- hour days (8:30am to 9:00pm days) (9:00pm to 9:00am nights) alternating weekly rotation, 1 hour breaks
