Eaton Corporation Sales Account Manager - Automotive OEM in Southfield, Michigan

Eaton’s IS VEH Power Connections division is currently seeking a Sales Account Manager - Automotive OEM.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $115625.25 - $169583.7 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

What you’ll do:

Drive the development and implementation of a sales strategy for innovative products within the OEM customer that enables the growth of the Power Connections product line through customer engagement and planning. The Account Manager will work together with entire Sales & Engineering teams to drive maximum penetration of our products across automotive OEM’s & Tier customers. This position operates primarily out of the Detroit, Michigan Area.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Formulate a sales strategy for the related products and customers and drive its implementation throughout the organization including cross functional responsibility

  • Manage and prioritize the opportunity and pursuit pipeline for the dedicated products, projects and customers within the Product Line

  • Develop & Win New Business consisting of Off-the-Shelf, OTS Variants & New Product Developments

  • Drive maximum revenue and profitability in potential opportunities

  • Understand market / customer potential to influence quote process with supporting data / trends

  • Negotiate and quote customer new business opportunities with support of leadership team

  • Assist OEM Program / Platform teams in defining requirements, design evaluations, and validation

  • Ability to perform actions with Covisint, OEM Build Event Management, Program Timing, Acronyms, & Deliverables

  • Support or manage weekly Open Issues / Business Development Meetings with Customer

  • Knowledge of PPAP, MMOG, TSAL, BTAB, SREA, ECN, etc.

  • Ensure contract terms for new projects are negotiated to maximize the benefit of Eaton (prices, costs, volumes, warranties, raw material price clause, intellectual property, design ownership, etc.)

  • Responsible for development of accurate business cases with support of all relevant functions such as Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain and Finance from RFQ receipt to management approval

  • Delivers upon established growth (revenue) and profitability targets, by selling value and achieving pricing actions based on budgetary/contractual adjustments, and other targeted price changes within the OEM and Service business.

  • Delivers funnel growth by identifying new opportunities and advancing them through various sales stages (specifically stages 3-7) within Eaton’s C360 system.

Qualifications:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution

  • Four (4+) or more years’ experience in Automotive Account Management (OEM preferred), or Engineering, or Program/Project Management in global manufacturing organization

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship both now and in the future

  • Must be currently located within a 50-mile radius of the working location (Southfield, MI) to be considered. Active-duty military are exempt from this geographical limitation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technical field, engineering or business from an accredited institution

  • Master’s degree in business administration

  • Two (2+) or more years of commercial experience with power electronics components/technology and electric vehicle architectures

  • Working knowledge of finance (P&L, cost estimating pricing, Internal Rate of Return, Net Present Value, etc.)

  • Prior experience at a leading Tier-1 supporting automotive OEM

Skills:

  • Excellent negotiating, interpersonal, communication, and strategic planning skills

  • Practical understanding of value-based selling and pricing

  • Demonstrated ability to achieve results in a matrix environment

  • Broad business acumen, ability to plan and manage execution of business plans

  • Well-developed financial and analytical skillset that includes ability to work with ERP systems, standard costs, financial models, track and negotiate impacts of scope changes, economics, facilitate development of contractual agreements, lead negotiations etc.

  • Ability to influence outside of a direct reporting relationship
