WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB :

Are you passionate about the future of human-computer interaction and eager to shape the way people communicate with technology? We're seeking an experienced Conversational AI Developer to be a key player in the Fundraising and Marketing Technology team. In this role, you will take center stage in developing cutting-edge chatbots and virtual assistants that provide intuitive, engaging, and efficient user experiences. As a Conversational AI Developer, your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of critical tasks.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Chatbot Development: Build conversational workflows using available content and integrate or design other sources of content.

  • Natural Language Processing (NLP): Apply advanced NLP techniques to understand and interpret user input, including intent recognition, entity extraction, sentiment analysis, and language understanding.

  • Machine Learning Integration: Integrate ML algorithms and models into chatbot systems to enhance response generation, question answering, and user engagement.

  • API Configuration: Configure APIs for chatbot solutions in the cloud connecting to external systems and various data sources.

  • Platform Integration: Collaborate with software engineers and developers and integrate chatbot systems into various platforms, such as websites, mobile apps, messaging applications, voice assistants, or CRM. Ensure seamless integration and compatibility with existing systems and APIs.

  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.

  • Documentation and Training: Document chatbot architectures, design decisions, and implementation details. Create user guides, documentation, and training materials to educate stakeholders and end-users on chatbot capabilities and best practices.

  • Training & Professional Development: Stay up to date with the latest advancements and trends in Conversational AI technologies, bringing new ideas and solutions to the team.

WORK LOCATION & SCHEDULE: The selected candidate will work 100% While this person may work remotely from home anywhere in the USA, they will work on an East Coast schedule (Core Working Hours 9:00am-5:00pm Eastern).

Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge. Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.

Qualified candidates must be authorized to work in the United States. The American Red Cross does not sponsor employment visas.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):

  • Bachelor’s Degree Computer Science/equivalent area of study or equivalent professional experience required.

  • 4+ years professional experience in Web development

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience using Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure

  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and evaluate conversational system solutions: conversational flows, intents, and entities.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE (preferred qualifications):

  • Experience evaluating and testing NLP systems or LLMs

  • Experience using Bot Framework SDK, Bot Framework Composer or Power Virtual Agents (PVA)

  • Experience with AWS AI Services, Lex, Comprehend, Chatbot

  • Experience with Azure Cognitive Services, Azure AI Services, Azure Bot Service (ABS)

  • Software engineering experience with Python

  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins or Azure DevOps

+++++++++++++++++++ PAY INFORMATION: The annual salary range for this position is $ 100,000 - $ 120,000. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role.

This job will be posted for a minimum of five business days and extended if the applicant pool needs to be expanded.

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role. *We will review specific salary information at the time of phone screening based upon your location & experience.*
