Robert Half Internal Audit Manager/Director in Thornton, Colorado


We are in the search for an Internal Audit Manager/Director to join our team in the construction and contractor industry located in the Denver area. The role encompasses overseeing the Internal Audit function, conducting audits, and ensuring compliance with internal procedures. This role requires a deep understanding of business processes, technology, operational, financial, and regulatory risks.


• Develop and implement an annual audit plan that aligns with the company's strategic goals

• Understand the business and identify potential risks that might prevent the company from achieving its objectives

• Allocate resources effectively to execute the audit plan and identify any possible limitations

• Manage audits and audit team members to meet the annual audit plan

• Participate in audit procedures including the development and execution of specific audit plans related to processes and controls

• Identify internal control weaknesses and non-compliance with internal procedures and policies

• Communicate effectively with department directors and senior management

• Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance existing controls

• Prepare executive summaries and detailed reports of audit results for internal reference

• Ensure audits are conducted in accordance with audit methodology and meet planned audit objectives and scope

• Develop and maintain strong business relationships with leadership, including management and Audit Committee members

• Drive audit efficiency and act as a liaison between external auditors and management

This role is 100% in office.


• A minimum of 5 years of experience in internal auditing.

• Prior experience in a Big 4 Accounting Firm is preferable.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is necessary.

• Ability to lead and manage the Internal Audit function.

• Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
