We are recruiting an Assistant Head of Maintenance to join ou vibrant team!
Reporting to the Cluster Head of Maintenance, the Assistant Head of Maintenance, will ensure that all aspects of hotel maintenance and management are kept to the very best standards and in line with all relevant health and safety legislature and procedures. You will be responsible to assist the Cluster Head of maintenance and ensure the smooth running of the day-to-day maintenance operations and ensure the resort is maintained to the highest standard.
Your day-to-day
Manage everyday activities to plan and allocate duties with the Rooms, Plant, Public Areas and Projects Team leaders to allocate the day-to-day duties to their respective teams
Takes full responsibility to lead the team and maintenance operations in absence of the Head of Maintenance
Plan and assign work ensuring you always have the right staffing numbers according to tasks allocated
Ensure adequate manning levels and ensures the on-call team attends to urgent maintenance duties, repairs or emergency breakdowns which may occur on weekends and evenings.
Obtain quotations for parts or works required to ensure an adequate stock of supplies required for duties assigned
Maintain records required for compliance to H&S Regulations, Legionella Control purposes
Ensures adherence to preventive maintenance programmes in Plant Room, Rooms and Public Areas
Lead hotel renovations and other projects, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely completion of projects within budget Responsible Business
Ensure a safe and secure environment for guests, team members and hotel assets in compliance with policies and procedures and regulatory requirements
Actively participates meetings with Senior Leadership Team, Auditors, Sub-Contractors and any other key stakeholders when and as required
Maintain good working relations with outside contactors
Maintain a focus and commitment to operating a “green” hotel
Perform duty management shifts when and as required
The selected candidate should ideally have:
An Advanced level vocational training plus two years of experience in building services management, maintenance or plant operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Previous experience in managing and leading a team including day to day maintenance or plant operations.
Working knowledge of maintenance duties including general maintenance, plumbing, electrical connections, building services and maintenance and health and safety.
Hotel Management experience
Must be on call in case of emergencies arising on evenings and weekends when required
Knowledge of H&S regulations related to the department
Excellent leadership, project management and troubleshooting skills
Must be able to communicate in Maltese and English
Must be computer literate and posses a valid driving license
