UL, LLC Project Engineer - Telecommunications Industry in Tunisia

Join our growing Global Market Access Team as our new Project Engineer who will be responsible for overseeing Telecommunication Type Approval projects focusing on the Saudi market, specifically dealing with the Communications, Space & Technology Commission (CST) and the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO).

This is a very unique role that combines regulatory expertise, project leadership and certification responsibilities to ensure compliance with national technical regulations and market access requirements. Interested? Apply!

  • Evaluate and finalize Type Approval documents for CST and SASO.

  • Manage certification lifecycle for Saudi Arabia, including submissions, inquiries, corrective actions, and approvals.

  • Provide guidance on product classification, test report acceptance, labeling, and other scheme requirements.

  • Maintain relationships with regulatory authorities and stay updated on policy changes.

  • Lead technical reviews and ensure certification packages are complete.

  • Mentor junior GMA staff on project execution and regulatory standards.

  • Coordinate with global teams to ensure timely and compliant telecom certification projects.

  • Identify gaps, drive corrective actions, and recommend process improvements.

  • Support data accuracy and project tracking in UL platforms.

  • Uphold UL’s standards for confidentiality, ethics, and data integrity.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.

  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Type Approval certifications, especially for wireless and ICT products in the MEA region.

  • Direct experience with CST and SASO Type Approval procedures is preferred.

  • Strong understanding of CST and SASO Technical Regulations and compliance criteria.

  • Working knowledge of TIC (Testing, Inspection, Certification) services across MEA.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with certification platforms.

  • Ability to interpret regulatory texts and translate requirements into deliverables.

  • Effective communicator with strong planning, organizational, and mentoring skills.

  • Fluent in English. Arabic language skills are a valuable asset.
