Job Description:

The HVAC/Plant Facility Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of all plant systems in a cGMP environment including HVAC, boiler, chiller, D.I. water, compressed air, fire sprinklers, water softeners, generator, dust collection and alarm systems.

Shift: 11:00 p.m.-7:15 a.m. Sunday – Thursday. Salary $80,000 to $85,000 DOQ

$5,000 Sign on Bonus

Essential Job Duties:

  • Monitors and performs maintenance on the following facility systems: boiler and boiler

  • auxiliaries, chiller and cooling tower, air handling units, pumps and associated equipment,

  • HVAC/R units including rooftop unites and dehumidifiers, and D.I. water systems.

  • Administers chemical treatment system.

  • Follows all cGMP standard operating procedures and executes documentation and

  • logbooks required in a cGMP environment.

  • Sanitizes systems monthly or as directed by Quality Assurance.

  • Responsible for parts procurement and spare parts inventory.

  • Schedules, coordinates project work and supervises contractual labor. Directly oversees

  • external vendor activities associated with plant facilities.

  • Responsible for annual preventative maintenance inspections and certification of

  • mechanical systems.

  • Fabricates and installs plant equipment designed by Engineering or outside vendors.

  • Provides production support on automated manufacturing and packaging machinery as

  • required or as assigned.

  • Performs job duties in accordance with all company and OSHA safety standards.

Requirements:

  • A vocational certificate or degree in HVAC/R or similar training strongly preferred.

  • 7 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with a vocational degree; or 12 years’ experience working in HVAC/R with no degree.

  • Minnesota 2nd Class B or higher license required.

  • Previous experience working in a regulated industry strongly preferred.

  • Experience working with Microsoft

  • Office products required. Demonstrated ability to balance competing priorities. Refrigerant Transition and Recovery certification preferred.

  • Aware of hazards associated with steam, refrigerants and treatment chemicals. Exposure/experience to GMP environments.

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints.

  • Ability to prioritize work schedule. Knowledge in trouble shooting PLC, Servo drives, and VFD’s.

  • Full understanding of thermos-dynamics and concepts.
