Federal Acquisition Service Project Manager in United States

Summary Location of position: General Services Administration, Federal Acquisition Service, Information Technology Category, Deputy AC Office of IT Category, Enterprise Strategy Division, Branch B VIRTUAL We are currently filling one vacancy, but additional vacancies may be filled as needed. Responsibilities As a Project Manager, you will apply expert technical knowledge to manage complex acquisition related projects and effectively tracks the status, progress, and risks of assigned projects. Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for planning and coordinating recurring project status meetings and project reviews, to facilitate and implement readjustments in funding and timelines. Resolves problems or conflicts impeding progress, assuring that category and acquisition members of the IPT work effectively as a team to complete the project in accordance with the timeline. Applies expert technical knowledge to ensure project schedules and objectives are accomplished in accordance with established milestones. Manages complex acquisition-related projects. Identifies, manages, integrates and/or adapts resources to achieve project goals while effectively managing and monitoring project scope, schedule, and budget. Ensures that projects delivered meet customer requirements Develops requirements, leads integrated project teams (IPTs), and oversees budgeting and governance processes, all of which are critical to ensuring that agency mission needs are filled and expected outcomes achieved. Develops comprehensive and detailed project plans and related artifacts, including methodology, resources requirements, timelines, priorities and budget impact. Exercises full responsibility for the lifecycle of project management activities. Leads debriefs, knowledge sharing sessions, or other lessons learned to stakeholders as appropriate. Provides feedback to leadership and stakeholders through appropriate reports, meetings, briefings, and information papers, both formally and informally. Briefs senior staff leadership on project status, significant developments, and impacts on meeting established project timelines, tasks, and objectives. Briefs key leadership on costs, impact, feasibility, alternatives, issues, recommendations and status of project development and implementation. Coordinates and communicates the activities of the project with stakeholders during all phases of the project. Effectively tracks the status, progress, and risks of assigned projects and, where directed, briefs key leadership on impact, feasibility, alternatives, and recommendations. This position requires the ability to acquire and maintain Federal Acquisition Certification for Program/Project Managers (FAC-P/PM certification. The GS-13 salary will be based upon selectee's location. To qualify, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience managing complex projects. Such experience must include: project planning, schedule development and monitoring, risk assessment, project management, stakeholder management; conflict resolution, project closeout and the application of procurement practices and techniques to guide acquisition-based Integrated Project Teams.
