Description
The Senior Data Engineering Analyst coordinates data processes, scripts, and outputs from a variety of databases, internal applications, and other sources to support critical reporting on maintenance and transportation operations. Working under the direction of the Manager of Service Performance and Analysis, this role is responsible for developing and maintaining data pipelines that automate the transformation of raw operations data into intermediate, aggregated, or summarized formats. These outputs support routine reporting and advanced analysis. The Analyst also establishes and maintains standards and best practices for operations analysis, reporting, and data development.
This role requires being onsite four (4) days per week.

Essential Functions
Develops data pipelines that prepare raw data produced by internal TriMet applications into consumable forms for analysis and reporting. Design database tables with curated data fields and useful aggregation, abstraction, and features.
Works with IT and operations divisions to ensure that minimum data standards are adhered to.
Develops and maintains automated scripts and programs for data management using SQL, SAS, R, and other software languages.
Produces, maintains, and updates department development procedures to ensure that regular reporting is standardized, maintainable, and up-to-date.
Oversees maintenance of regularly scheduled reporting processes, and train Operations Analysts in reporting requirements and maintenance.
When appropriate, operationalizes one-off analyses performed by Service Performance and Analysis team into scheduled, automated regular reporting.
Position Requirements
A minimum of a bachelor's degree is required. with a bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, computer science, or business being preferred.
Four (4) years of total credited experience.*
Two (2) years of experience conducting research, performing statistical data analysis, business system and process improvement analysis and presenting recommendations are required.
Two (2) years of experience with software development are preferred.
Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.*
The amount of credit a candidate receives for prior years of experience is based on the relevancy of that experience to the required or preferred prerequisites of the job description. Experience is prorated based on hours worked. LRHR assigns and validates the "credited experience".

Salary Range
Minimum: $91,048.00
Maximum: $136,572.00
Salary offers will be determined by a candidate’s education, training and relevant experience. Any final offer of employment will fall within the range stated above. For transparency, we choose to list the full available grade range, however, TriMet’s salary administration process will ultimately determine the final salary offered.
