CompuCom Senior System Administrator in United States

We’re looking for a Senior System Administrator to join our team.

The System Administrator will manage all aspects of the Mac support service ensuring the development & support and continuous improvement of services aligned to business and technology strategies. They will ensure best practice processes are in place and being followed, improving service delivery and support to Technology and the business, providing support to Level 2 MAC support folks in developing and delivering industry-leading quality services to the business. And to ensure that maximum business benefits are obtained from existing and new Technology assets, capabilities and resources.

  • Defining, maintaining and enhancing fit-for-purpose, best value Mac services (as measured against external benchmarking) that meets business requirements and strategic objectives whilst meeting the business’ appetite for risk, service performance and cost management.

  • Responsible for ensuring all Mac services are available and performing as intended.

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with the business, partners and suppliers.

  • Develop and implement IT service improvement plans to deliver the transformation agenda, industry best practice and changing business requirements.

  • Experience in Administration of Macintosh base environment.

  • Experience in supporting production environment comprising of MAC machines.

  • Hands on experience on Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey.

  • Mass upgrades and patch management of MacOS and Software.

  • Product installation and application patches deployment.

  • Administration and maintenance of existing packages.

  • Collaborate with product management and senior leadership to implement features and develop the roadmap for Jamf/Apple Deployment.

  • Design, Implementation of JAMF and Microsoft Intune based on industry best practices.

  • Develop, test, and maintain macOS system configurations and iOS profiles, including a baseline build specification for all new devices deployed throughout the customer district.

  • Coach employees in their use of the deployed Jamf Pro instances for macOS and iOS.

  • Develop, test, and maintain framework for Apple ABM.

  • Assist in creating scripts, packages, and developing custom applications to support the Project Team as needed.

  • 10 or more years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Microsoft Intune, JAMF 300 or 370 (Preferred)

  • 5+ years of experience architecting, deploying, and troubleshooting iOS, macOS in customer environments.

  • A general understanding of networking: DNS, DHCP & Proxy servers.

  • A good understanding of using group policies to manage windows and Mac OSX clients & experience of deploying Mac OSX within an enterprise environment.

  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl or ZShell.

  • Experience integrating macs with different identity providers such as Okta, Active Directory, or JumpCloud.

  • Advanced knowledge of macOS fundamentals including networking, command line, security, and file system management.

  • Experience creating and presenting technical content as a subject matter expert.

  • Familiarity with Apple deployment workflows, including the Apple Business Manager (ABM) and Volume Purchase Program (VPP).

  • Apple Certified Support Professional (ACSP) or ability to obtain.

  • Familiarity with cloud hosted services such as Virtual Machines, Apache/Tomcat, IIS on AWS and other similar providers.

  • Familiarity with concepts relating to creation and deployment of certificates.
