SET THE COURSE
The Sourcing & Product Development Assistant is responsible for supporting the Sourcing & Product Development team throughout the development stage with a focus on data management, sample tracking and product development calendar adherence. This position will maintain departmental tools and reports and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure department and business objectives are met in a timely manner.
BE THE ISLAND GUIDE
Update and maintain development WIP reports across multiple seasons simultaneously as it relates to requests, submits and approvals of mocks, wash submits, trims and embroideries to ensure vendor and corporate calendar deliverables are met through all development stages
Create and maintain samples tracking chart to track and receive from initial sample stage through salesman sample stage. Support Sourcing & Product Development Director in reviewing samples for product accuracy. Coordinate with design, technical design and samples team for distribution of samples.
Communicate sample costs and HTS codes to samples team
Track and review seasonal development costs and issue POs with manager’s approval
Assist the Sourcing & Product Development Director in reviewing tech packs for accuracy and generating tech packs to send to vendors
Support Sourcing & Product Development Director field non-technical vendor/supplier inquiries as co-liaison to design materials and production teams to field non-technical vendor/supplier inquiries
Maintain and update Flex PLM with sourcing data for vendor allocation, milestone meetings and merchant product data downloads
Manage sourcing data in text files for Brand Launch line list
Assist in updating and maintaining cost sheets
Support the Sourcing & Product Development Director and Category Manager with various projects and duties as needed
Attend cross functional and milestone meetings as needed
Flexible for other duties as needed to help support the overall business.
ESSENTIALS FOR LIFE IN PARADISE
Generally, 3+ years of experience in garment manufacturing/product development.
Experience with Flex PLM preferred
Strong MS Office, especially Excel skills preferred
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with management and cross functional teams
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong attention to details
Ability to work proactively and solve problems
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to multitask and work in a high pace environment
Good analytical skills
Good judgment and decision-making ability
Deadline driven, self-starter
Multiple factors will vary the applicable rate of pay for this role, including an individual’s experience, knowledge, and skillset, as well as work location and available budget.
Rate Range: $22 – $33/hour
