Job Summary:
Under indirect supervision, coordinates patient transportation to Honolulu medical providers; obtains airlines tickets from carriers; issues taxi voucher; processes invoices on timely basis; enters travel information into neighbor island database; creates and forwards monthly airline recharge reports to accounts payable in timely fashion; receives patient complaints and resolves first level problems.
Essential Responsibilities:
Collaborates with physicians, RN and/or authorized medical personnel re: services needed for patient not available through clinic (e.g. hospitalization); informs and assists patients and members of families regarding travel for members receiving services on Oahu from Kaiser Medical Center facility and other facilities and community organizations; arranges and coordinates patient transfer to Moanalua Medical Center, handling air transportation, taxi pick-up, etc. as appropriate; processes reimbursements to deceased members families for eligible mortuary costs.
Receives, evaluates, and investigates complaints/remarks from health plan members pertaining to care, charges, membership information, appointments, employee or physician treatment or attitude, system short-comings or improvements, etc.; responds and takes action on matters or refers more difficult concerns to appropriate individual and/or supervisor/department head in order to assure satisfaction or understanding of organizations objectives, reason and behaviors.
Interprets and implements regional travel policy for patients; manages and revises travel related forms and brochures as needed.
Provides airline tickets to HPMG physicians and staff as required and recharges tickets to appropriate cost centers on monthly basis.
Produces month end travel report for proper expense distribution and forwards to general accounting.

Performs other duties and accepts responsibility as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience
One (1) year customer service experience in medical setting.
Education
High school diploma; or equivalent combination of education (lesser) & experience may be considered in lieu of requirements.

Additional Requirements:
Demonstrated mathematical ability to create monthly accounting reports and provide travel cost estimations.
Type 35 wpm.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in customer service, influence, interpersonal relations, oral communication, problem solving, teamwork, written communication, initiative, and detail-orientation.
Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in word processing, spreadsheet, and database PC applications.
