SUMMARY:The Deputy Construction Manager applies sound and diversified knowledge of engineering and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. The selected candidate will play a key role in coordinating and managing various aspects of engineering projects, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality projects within scope, budget, and schedule. JOB QUALIFICATIONS:•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management or similar, minimum 5 years of experience•Professional Engineering License or Certified Construction Manager•Knowledge of the entire construction process including planning, design, procurement, permitting, pre-construction, performance, monitoring and close-out•Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat or BlueBeam Revu. Experience with Primavera P6, and AutoCAD a plus•Understand building, project site systems, and construction methods•Understand and able to properly administer the contracts•Exceptional customer service skills in serving clients•Proficient in communication, coordination, and organization skills•Creative, collaborative and a team player•Ability to work with minimal supervision•Should be a creative, persuasive, critical thinker, and must be aware of ethical issues of an engineer•Able to read and understand project contracts, specifications, and drawings•Able to travel to different work sites•Ability to work outside with increased noise levels•Ability to work outside occasionally in environmental, atmospheric, and sometimes hazardous conditions•Ability to work outside in all weather conditions•Excellent hand-eye coordination is necessary for various pieces of equipment•Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds•Ability to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, reach, finger, or grasp, feel, talk, hear, and to do repetitive motion•Positive service-oriented attitude toward the firm, our employees, and the clientsESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:•Ensure contractor compliance to the contract documents/requirements•Know the client’s CM contract requirements•Able to document construction activities•Regularly review Project Inspector Daily Reports for accuracy and thoroughness•Conduct weekly progress (OAC) meetings and write up minutes•Review contractor’s overall CPM schedule for contract compliance•Review contractor’s schedule of values in conjunction with their overall CPM schedule•Ensure that projects are on schedule and within appropriate budget•Coordinate projects with Clients, Contractors, and 3rd parties involved with the projects (e.g., City & County of Honolulu, Fire Department, BWS, HECO, and other utilities)•Collaborate with contractors and subcontractors to address engineering related issues•Coordinate project and schedule updates and workforce scheduling•Review and process design requirements - requests for information, submittals, project changes•Mentor less experienced team members and offer advice, training, and direction•Follow established filing systems, tracking logs, and archiving standard as set forth by BK•Coordinate Field Inspectors and ensure all pertinent information is passed on and noted•Proficient in reading and comprehending construction plans, specifications and design documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards•Work closely with design team to address any discrepancies or issues•Perform work site visits and maintain logs•Research and respond to RFIs as needed•Prepare weekly and monthly reports•Perform other duties as assignedLOCATION: Honolulu, HISALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $115,000 per year depending on experiencePlease apply direct online at: www.bowersandkubota.com Equal Opportunity Employer/Vets/Disabled100% Employee Owner
