JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Goal/General Overview: To work cooperatively with all staff, parents, students to provide efficient and safe transportation in order for students to gain the full potential from the district\'s curricular and co-curricular programs. Performance Responsibilities: 1. Safely transport students to and from school per assigned routes. 2. Observe all traffic laws, transportation rules and regulations, board policies, or any rules and regulations governing a school bus driver. 3. Before and after every route, check for children on the van 4. Report maintenance needs to Transportation Coordinator for scheduling 5. Report all accidents promptly and follow accident procedures. 6. Maintain good student conduct on the van and follow proper discipline procedures for student violations of bus rules and regulations. 7. Uses appropriate language and communication with parents, staff and students 8. Attend scheduled workshops, trainings, and meetings as required. 9. Represent the school district to the public and staff in a responsible, professional and courteous manner. 10. Assists in creating a positive climate for learning 11. Other related responsibilities and duties as required. Check the condition of a vehicle\'s tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order. Complete accident reports when necessary. Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner. Drive shuttle busses, limousines, company cars, or privately owned vehicles to transport passengers. Follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation, and ensure that passengers follow safety regulations. Perform routine vehicle maintenance, such as regulating tire pressure and adding gasoline, oil, and water. Pick up and drop off passengers at regularly scheduled neighborhood locations, following strict time schedules. Pick up or meet passengers according to requests, appointments, or schedules. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: 1. High School Diploma or equivalent 2. Twenty-one years of age or older 3. Valid Driver\'s License 4. Physically qualified as determined by required physical examination and random drug testing 5. Ability to function harmoniously with co-workers, supervisors, administration, staff, students, and parents 6. Ability to adjust to changes in daily routines and cope with emergency situations 7. Ability to work independently and as a team member, to prioritize workload and meet deadlines 8.
